Telehealth Consent & Practice Policies
Please read this information carefully before using Allure TeleHealth. By starting a visit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. This page is a general overview and does not replace a signed consent form where applicable.
1. Not for Emergencies
Allure TeleHealth does not provide emergency or crisis care.
If you are experiencing chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of stroke, suicidal thoughts, or any other life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
2. Nature of Telehealth Services
Telehealth means that your care may be delivered using secure video, audio, chat, and electronic messaging instead of in-person visits. This can include:
- Evaluation and treatment of non-emergency medical concerns
- Medication management when clinically appropriate
- Follow-up care and health counseling
- Weight-management and lifestyle consultations
Telehealth has limitations. Certain diagnoses and physical exams cannot be performed remotely. You may be advised to seek in-person care or urgent evaluation when needed.
3. Physician Licensure & Location
Care is provided by a U.S.-licensed physician. By using this service, you confirm that you are physically located in a U.S. state where the physician is authorized to practice at the time of the visit.
If you are located outside of an authorized state at the time of your visit, we may not be able to provide medical care and may need to reschedule or cancel your visit.
4. Medications & Prescribing
Not all medications are appropriate for telehealth-only care. The physician will decide if a prescription is safe and clinically appropriate based on your history, exam, and available information.
- We do not prescribe DEA-controlled substances (such as most stimulants for ADHD, many anxiety medications, and opioid pain medicines) through this telehealth service.
- Some medications (including certain weight-loss medicines) may require labs, vital signs, documentation from prior records, or in-person evaluation before or during treatment.
- If telehealth is not sufficient for safe prescribing, you may be referred for in-person care.
5. Use of AI Tools
Allure TeleHealth may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to summarize your intake information and generate draft clinical notes or education. These AI tools are intended for clinician support only and do not make diagnoses or decisions on their own.
Final medical decisions, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescriptions, are always made by a licensed clinician.
6. Privacy & Data
We use secure, encrypted platforms and make reasonable efforts to protect your information. However, as with any electronic communication, there is some risk that data could be accessed by unauthorized parties.
- Do not use public computers or unsecured Wi-Fi for your visits if you are concerned about privacy.
- You are responsible for protecting your own devices, email accounts, and access to visit links and codes.
- Some communications (like appointment emails or visit codes) may contain limited health information.
This practice aims to follow applicable privacy and security regulations, but this page is not a substitute for a full Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP).
7. Payment, Refunds & Crypto
Payment is typically required before a telehealth visit is completed. We currently accept major credit/debit cards and certain cryptocurrencies.
- Card payments: processed securely through Stripe. If a technical issue prevents a visit from taking place, we will work with you to review and address the charge.
- Crypto payments: you are responsible for sending the correct amount including network or gas fees. All blockchain transactions are final and cannot be reversed by the physician or practice.
- Crypto refunds are generally only considered if a visit could not be provided and may require a new transaction to a wallet address you control.
This is not tax or investment advice. You are responsible for any tax reporting related to your crypto use.
8. Risks, Benefits & Alternatives
Potential benefits of telehealth include convenience, reduced travel time, and faster access to a clinician for certain conditions. Potential risks include:
- Limited physical exam compared to in-person care
- Technical failures (poor connection, platform issues, dropped calls)
- Rare but possible privacy or security breaches despite safeguards
You always have the option to seek in-person care instead of, or in addition to, telehealth.
9. Your Agreement

- You have read and understood this Telehealth Consent summary.
- You understand the limitations and risks of telehealth and agree to proceed.
- You will provide accurate information about your symptoms, history, medications, and location.
